Kylie Cosmetics: Matte Liquid Lipstick

The internet went crazy over the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kits, but many of us didn't want nor need the lip liners. I was thrilled when I saw she started selling the lipsticks on their own. I picked up ten colors: Heir, Reign, King K, Koko K, Posie K, Dolce K, Mary Jo K, Candy K, 22, and Like (which will be pictured in that order). I was very disappointed to find that she did not offer free shipping, but that's a whole other rant. (Note: she now offers free domestic shipping on orders over $40. Hallelujah!)

Packaging & Value
While these are nice lipsticks, I honestly do not think they are worth $17 each. I would be happy to pay $10, but I think $17 is a little steep. As with a lot of beauty products, you're paying for the name brand here. I will say that the packaging was lovely—zero complaints here. The wand was very soft and flexible, and small enough to maneuver around my thinner lips. All of my tubes were very full, and look and feel expensive. I can also say that I adore the design on the tubes.

Application & Longevity
These apply wonderfully. They dry down to a matte finish after about a minute and do no fade while eating or drinking. They are very hard to remove, but that is pretty average of a matte liquid lipstick. The best part of these for me was that none of them were sticky. They really do last for most of the day without touching up but, again, they are hard to remove. The color below is Koko K.

Results & Recommendations

I really like these. I feel that the colors accentuate my lips and make them appear more full, which I always appreciate. Plus, I've never seen anyone, of any skin tone, wear these and not look fabulous. They're really flattering for everyone. I'd definitely repurchase a few of these colors if they went on sale or if I had the extra income, and I'm absolutely interested in some of her newer colors. The swatches below are old and mediocre, but I thought I'd include them anyway for reference. They are in the same order as above. Ignore the cut in the middle! Ouch!

  1. This sounds like the kind of lipstick I might like. But that price tag is a big no-no.

    1. Yeah, it's pretty hard to shell out $17 when I feel like I'm paying for the name brand and not the actual product. If she ever has a sale, you should definitely get one though. They are nice, but impossible to remove! Thanks for the comment!
