NeoStrata: Skin Active Exfoliating Wash

When I was a teenager, I couldn't wait to grow up because I assumed that my acne would magically disappear and I'd have clean, clear skin like the adults in my life. Well, that didn't happen. Over the years, I've tried all kinds of products to combat my skin issues, and while some things have made a difference, nothing has cleared my skin completely, so the search continued. When I heard that a good friend of mine used NeoStrata, I knew I had to try it. I chose the exfoliating wash based on its reviews.

Now, I'm a pretty frugal person, so the thought of spending $40 on a face wash was a bit daunting to me, but if the product worked as well for me as it does for my friend, I would consider it the right price. This exfoliating wash comes in a 4.2 ounce pump-style bottle. I was actually very surprised to find that it was a foaming wash. Foam and exfoliate are two words that I don't usually group together. It is soap-free and contains natural ingredients such as aloe, cucumber, and rosemary extracts.

One of the first things I noticed was that the foam was really thin. When I pumped it into my hands, it would simply slide off if my hands weren't cupped. When applying it to my face, I had to work in small sections to avoid it dripping. At first, I didn't like the formula because of this, but the more I use it, the more I realize that this is actually a perk because it forces me to take the time to massage the product into my skin, giving it more time to work its magic on my skin. Let me tell you, this stuff is magic.

I use this twice a day, once in the morning when I wake up and again at night during my shower. It is not drying whatsoever, although the first few uses may make your skin feel slightly tight. After the first use, I noticed that a lot of redness was gone. After a few days, my acne started to clear. After a week, my skin had never felt so soft and the "problem areas" on my face were improving. After two weeks, I do still have some acne and a bit of redness, but I can definitely tell that the NeoStrata is doing its job.

As I stated earlier, I was a bit worried about a foam not being able to truly exfoliate, but it really does! My skin feels soft and supple, and the dry spots around my nose are completely smooth!

I'm very satisfied with this face wash, and would definitely repurchase it. I'm realizing that you get what you pay for and I would gladly pay $40 every few months to have my skin continue to feel this nice! I have my eye on a few other products from NeoStrata as well to incooperate into my skincare routine.

    1. Hi Miri! I believe it would work for dry skin. My skin is very dry on my forehead and in my brows and it works well for me. Alternatively, my skin is oily around my nose and on my temples and it works great there as well. I really believe this is a great face wash for all skin types.

    1. Absolutely, Christine! My skin is very sensitive and the only time I've experienced any redness was the first time I used it. The redness did alleviate after about an hour and my skin has never looked better!
