Neostrata: Intensive Eye Therapy

Since I had such amazing results with the NeoStrata Skin Active Exfoliating Wash, I reached out to NeoStrata and asked if I could try more from the Skin Active line. I was a bit anxious when they sent me this Intensive Eye Therapy cream since I'm not a huge user of eye creams, but I was excited because it was a NeoStrata product. Plus, a product with apple stem cell extracts sounds intriguing to me.

For those of you who don't remember, I tried another eye cream and hated it. I honestly wasn't expecting this to do very much. It claims to lift and firm, smooth lines, and help boost collagen, along with a few other things that are listed on the box. It's a tiny bottle, only half an ounce of product for $84. I actually thought I was sent a sample-sized product until I confirmed that 0.5 ounces was the full amount. Again, I was skeptical, but I started using it as instructed. My first thought was that the packaging was lovely and very high-end. The pump is tiny, which is nice because it allows me to really control the amount that dispenses. The bottle itself is a really sturdy material, and it feels heavy.

For one week, I used a full pump once a night after cleansing my face, working the serum around my eye area. After a few days of doing this, I realized that one full pump was too much and started using about half a pump. This was when I realized that the 0.5 ounces in the bottle would actually last me quite some time, at least a few months. Since the formula is so highly concentrated, a little really does go a long way. After the first week, I started applying the product twice a day. I've been using it now for about one month and there's still a lot left. I usually only test skincare products for two weeks before reviewing them, but figured I would give this more time to see what it could really do.

This is what one full pump of the cream looks like. (As a side note, look how wrinkled my hands are in close-ups! Maybe I should use this cream on them too!) It looks like a lotion, but feels like a gel. I thought it would be heavy on my eyes, but it feels silky smooth and lightweight. I apply it by dotting a small amount on the outer corner of my eyes, working the product outward and upward, and then massaging it under my eyes. Even the Handsome Book Nerd, who would probably die if he knew I told you this, likes the way this feels on his skin and he has the most sensitive skin I've ever seen.

Now, the claims NeoStrata makes with this product. Does this product lift and firm? Yes, yes, a million times yes. My eyes are slightly hooded and I've actually noticed a slight lift in the outer corners. Does it smooth lines? I'm 26 and my lines are very light, but I'm going to say yes, especially considering what it's doing for the Handsome Book Nerd's crow's feet. Does it boost collagen? Time will be the only thing that answers this question. For now, my eye area looks great and feels wonderful. The puffiness under my eyes from lack of sleep (thanks kids!) has decreased significantly, which I'm attributing to the caffeine in this serum. You can really see a difference in under-eye wrinkles in the pictures above. The top is before and the bottom is after. Apologies for the difference in lighting and makeup!

I will likely purchase this again when I run out. The difference I see is worth the price tag. I plan to keep you updated on any changes I see from this product, and let you know when I run out.

    1. As far as I'm aware there isn't a coupon code right now, but it really does seem to be worth the money. My eyes do look amazing, don't they? Haha! Thanks for reading Aria!
